Beware of Scams!

Beware of Scams!
The online world is full of scams, but you can take steps to protect yourself.
You can’t completely eliminate the risk of being scammed, but there are ways to minimize your exposure. Here are some tips:
Don’t fall for the “too good to be true” lure. If something sounds too good to be true, it most likely is — and it’s probably a scam. Steer clear of offers for free money or other rewards that require you to send money or information in return.
Be cautious when buying from unknown sellers on sites like Craigslist or eBay. It’s easy for scammers to set up fake accounts and offer products at low prices — just so they can get your money and disappear. If possible, meet the seller in person and bring someone else with you.
Don’t give out personal information such as your Social Security number or bank account numbers unless absolutely necessary — even if someone promises that it will make things easier for you or speed up their response time. Scammers often use this information to steal your identity, drain your bank account or apply for credit using your name without permission (which could ruin your credit).
